Finishing up on our trip to Galveston, on Friday afternoon/evening Norman and I decided to take Aiden to the Rainforest Cafe and look around the gift shop. (We decided not to actually eat there because let's face it Aiden wouldn't probably try anything on the menu.) We had also heard there was a little ride that we could take as a family. Which apparently after doing a little research to find a picture since we forgot to take one, Galveston is the only Rainforest Cafe location that offers this ride. It is a 5 minute boat ride, similar to the Looney Toons boat ride at Six Flags. Aiden was VERY unsure of the process but once he got on and was sitting in my lap he was ok. He didn't cry but he also didn't really say anything at all during the ride, we thought we would be quick to point out all the animals, I guess he just took it all in. Norman and I didn't really know what to expect either and I have to admit it was a little scary. It was noisy with all the rainforest animals and we actually thought we were going to get soaked at one point in time but luckily the water turned off as you went under it. We were really proud of Aiden for not being too scared.

On Saturday, we went to check out the Oceanstar which is an oil rig museum that shows you how an oil rig works and what it does. Again we didn't really know much about it but had heard that it was "family day" so we figured it would be fun to try. Well "family day" turned out to be just making a Christmas ornament before you go into the museum. Ha! It was really interesting to Norman and I but not so much for Aiden. Needless to say we didn't really have lots of time to read about the different things. But Aiden did really well and liked watching all of the boats that were around that area.

When we weren't checking out local attractions we were spending time in our hotel room just hanging out with family. We were disappointed it was so cold and rainy when we went and we weren't able to take Aiden out to see the gulf water and beach. But we had a great time getting away before we were busy with Christmas and getting to spend time with Norman's parents.
Leaving you with one last picture of Aiden and Norman snuggling on the couch after nap time...
