Our Trip to the Big D

Last Thursday, my friend Jennifer and I (with the two boys) went to visit our friend Katie and her son Will in Dallas at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

We left Waco fairly early this morning, in hopes that the boys would nap on the way there. After much fussing, Jennifer had to pull out the bag of toys (what a life savor). The boys would play with one toy and look at each other and want what the other one had, then they would drop the toy and fuss for a new one. They finally decided to take a 30 minute nap, which was glorious for us moms! Then they woke up and went through the remainder of the toys.

We arrived at the TSRH and went to the playground to feed the boys lunch and play while we waited for Katie, her mom, and Will to be available. Aiden wasn't too sure about the playground at first, but after a couple of times going down the slide he warmed up to it. Here are a couple of pictures from the playground.

After the playground, we were able to have lunch with Katie, her mom, and Will. Then they took us on a tour of the hospital. It is a really neat hospital where all the rooms were labeled with names like Airplane or Polar Bear Exam. There were also many neat toys and displays donated to the hospital. We tried several times to take a picture of all the boys and the only way we succeeded was to put them in their strollers. Even then they had a hard time all looking in the same direction.

Will, Aiden, and Mason

Jennifer and I finally decided to leave before the boys got to fussy. Of course, we couldn't leave the Dallas area without doing a little shopping. We went to Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids, and a fun little toy store.

Aiden slept from Dallas to Hillsbroro, where we decided to stop for a little more shopping. Then Mason took a nap from Hillsbroro to Waco. They boys for the most part played with toys quietly while the other one was sleeping.

Aiden was excited to get home and get out of the car. It was a great trip, thanks Katie for letting us come a visit you and Will!!
