Aiden's Big Boy Bed

Here is something new amidst all the catch-up post!

Several months ago while in a local antique store (Bloom and Bee Swanky) I ran across this white iron bed that was taken out of one of the local Firehouses (I think from the 50s). I thought it would work perfectly for Aiden's room/big boy bed. My parents decided to purchase it, paint it, and give it to Aiden for his 3rd birthday. We originally planned to paint it red, but just couldn't seem to find the right shade and went with black instead. Since we found out we were having a girl, I thought I would try and see if we could use the quilt that was in the guest bedroom (it was hardly used). Of course, Aiden loves it and often shows it off to anyone who comes over. Thanks POPS for all your hard work on it!!

And for the fun of it, here is the rest of his room:

Norman and I recently went through some boxes of our childhood books. So yesterday, I took out all the board books (to put in Addisyn's room) and put "new" books in Aiden's bookshelf.

This dresser was in our room at one time and when we got rid of Aiden's changing table we decided to paint it black and use it in Aiden's room.

These are the shelves in his room that we hung when we fixed up his nursery. I often move things around on them as we get new things. But I love the current set up and will probably keep it like this for a while. I can't bring myself to take out the baby picture in the frame.

And of course, Aiden's little seating area.
