Odds and Ends (by Brooke)

So we haven't been the best about updating the blog here lately. I would love to say that we have been busy traveling to new and exciting places but that is just not true. Aiden seems to be keeping me pretty busy here lately and I haven't really been motivated to update whenever he goes to bed. So this post will have some random events that have been going on around here lately.

A couple of weeks ago Norman and I were able to take a little trip to Fredericksburg for a couple of days. We decided that we needed a little time alone without the kiddo. So my parents so graciously volunteered to watch him while we took our little vacation. Everybody had a great time. Granna was tired by the time we picked him up, saying that he was a busy-body. It was definitely rejuvenating for Norman and I. Sorry there are no pictures of those days.

My brothers' wife, Kristyn, recently made this cake for one of Aiden's friends 2nd birthday.

Didn't it turn out great!!

On to recent news about Aiden...(because we know that is why you are here)

- I don't really have a whole lot of recent pictures of him. He has recently decided that he doesn't really like to take pictures. He looks away from the camera whenever I pull it out. And of course he is always on the go. So here is the warning of poor quality.

As I have said before, Aiden loves to read. He now brings me books several times a day to read MANY times before he goes to get another one. I can't count how many times I have read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and "A Very Hungary Caterpillar".

Aiden also loves to stack and put things inside each other. It is fun to see him concentrating and learning how things work.

Aiden likes to play "Where's Aiden?" with his blanket. Whenever we play and ask him "Where is Aiden or Mama or Dada?", he will answer by saying "there" or "right there". So cute. His vocabulary seems to be growing daily. Other new words include duck and down.

Finally, here is a cute picture of Aiden just being silly. As you can tell he is pretty attached to his little blanket.

- In other news, Aiden now takes as many as 8 steps at a time. He still crawls the majority of the time but is getting closer to walking more often. Aiden is also finally getting his thrid tooth (on the top middle). The other top middle tooth looks like it might not be far behind
